Year 2 enjoyed a Science & Design Day at Wicksteed Park today – learning about Charles Wicksteed, the history of the park and rollercoaster designs. They went on a ‘push and pull’ scavenger hunt, learned more about gravity and friction and tested if the slope of a slide has an effect on the speed and distance a teddy travels down it!
Later they met goats, ducks, rabbits, rats, ferrets, pigs and even a baby barn owl in the new farm area, designed and built their own giant marble run in the Learning Space, and ended the busy day with a ride on the carousel.
