MK Preparatory School Receives “Excellent” across the board in Inspection Report” and “MKPS Nursery (EYFS)  receives “Outstanding” in all 5 areas in Inspection Report

Overview of the Inspection Report

At MKPS, we are inspected by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) every 3 years. This is to ensure that we are consistently providing an optimal level of education and support to our students. The ISI report focuses on two separate areas of the school, these being the EYFS and the preparatory school, with the ISI providing separate overall ratings for each facility. The results came back as follows:

MKPS Prep school received an “Excellent” rating across the board in the inspection report.

MKPS Nursery (EYFS) received an “Outstanding” rating in all 5 areas of the inspection report.

What does the ‘Excellent’ rating mean for MK Preparatory School?

MK Preparatory School was rated on 12 overarching aspects by the ISI. The grades given for each of these are either: ‘Excellent’, ‘Good’, ‘Satisfactory’ or ‘Unsatisfactory. MKPS School received An “Excellent” rating across all 12 of the ISI inspection report criteria. We are very proud of this achievement as it highlights the excellent work that all of our staff and pupils have completed. Some of the key areas that we have been rated “Excellent” for include:

  • “The quality of the pupils’ academic and other achievements is excellent.”
  • “Pupils’ knowledge, skills and understanding across their broad curriculum is excellent.”
  • “The quality of the pupils’ academic and other achievements is excellent.”
  • “The quality of the pupils’ personal development is excellent.”
  • “Pupils reported that there is a culture of consideration towards others borne out of the school motto of ‘Care’.”
  • “The school has developed an excellent partnership with parents.”

Each of these factors is incredibly important to all staff and members of the team here at MKPS. We are consistently striving to provide the best possible educational experience to all of our students. This starts with providing the best equipment and classroom facilities, specialist teachers in each subject, and opportunities for extra learning and activities. We then listen to and understand pupils’ needs, ensuring that these are being met at all times.

What does the ‘Outstanding’ rating mean for MKPS Nursery?

MKPS Nursery (EYFS) was rated based on 5 overarching criteria by the ISI. The grades given to each of these criteria are either: ‘Oustanding’. ‘Good’, ‘Requires Improvement’ or ‘Unsatisfactory’. MKPS EYFS was judged as ‘Oustanding’ in all 5 areas. We are so proud of this achievement, as ratings such as these are something that very few schools are able to attain. The goal of our nursery is to make the transition into nursery and, eventually, school as easy as possible for you and your baby.

What sets MKPS apart?

MKPS is an independent day school offering continuous education to pupils from 3 years to 11 years old. MKPS EYFS is a nursery and pre-preparatory school for babies and children from 2 months to 3 years old. This means we are able to easily transition your child from nursery into a highly challenging and engaging preparatory school environment. Some of the key things that we can offer are:

Specialist teaching:

We pride ourselves on providing specialist teachers for our students who are able to bring a real level of expertise to each of their classes. This means that as your child is introduced to new subjects and knowledge, you can rest assured that they are being guided by an expert who will take the best approach possible.

Top-quality facilities:

At MK Preparatory School, we believe in investing in the best possible facilities for our students. For example, we are able to provide an outdoor astroturf pitch which is the ideal surface for sports such as football, hockey and netball. We also have an indoor sports hall with 3 badminton courts and indoor cricket nets. This space is also used for gymnastics, judo and badminton clubs. Other facilities that we can offer include an environmental studies centre, Computing and technology suite, engineering and design, art and music departments, a school library, a student wellbeing room and more.

After school and holiday hours:

If you require care for your child beyond the normal school day, we are able to provide this. We have a full day from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm with all meals provided and an extra 11 weeks of holiday playscheme available to choose from. We can provide further information on this in our fees section.

What’s next?

We could not have achieved this excellent result in both areas of the ISI inspection report without our wonderful students and the support of our parents. We value your input greatly and are able to offer a parent association if you would like to get more involved with the school and support your child’s education further.
