Year 1 are continuing to work towards the Woodland Trust Green Tree Silver Award. Today we focused on a nature connectedness challenge aiming to deepen the children’s relationships with the natural world. Each child highlighted the main lines of their palms and then looked for their ‘tree twin’ on the school bank, a tree which they felt showed the same lines and shape. The children enjoyed finding their special tree and took time to examine it and remember its individual features.
